Kraft's Frosted Peanut Butter Treats For Fall
Here is an easy to make after school treat for your little ones and not so little ones. My Grandkids say "MeMe, please take away the nuts next time". Leave out the peanuts if they are picky! It is a nice twist on the original Rice Krispie Treats from Kraft Foods.
Frosted Peanut Butter Treats
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine
1 pkg. (10 oz.) JET-PUFFED Marshmallows (40 marshmallows)
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
5 cups crisp rice cereal
1 cup PLANTERS Salted Peanuts (optional)
1 cup BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chunks
1 cup butterscotch chips
Make It!
MICROWAVE butter in large microwaveable bowl on HIGH 45 sec. or until melted. Add marshmallows; toss to coat. Microwave 1-1/2 min. or until marshmallows are completely melted, stirring after 45 sec.
STIR in peanut butter until blended. Add cereal and nuts; mix well. Press onto bottom of greased 13x9-inch pan.
MICROWAVE remaining ingredients in small microwaveable bowl 1 to 1-1/2 min. or until completely melted and mixture is well blended, stirring every 30 sec. Pour over cereal mixture; spread to cover. Refrigerate 1 hour or until chocolate mixture is set.
Kraft Kitchens Tips
Use Your Stove
Melt butter in 3-qt. saucepan on low heat. Add marshmallows; stir until marshmallows are completely melted and mixture is well blended. Stir in peanut butter; remove from heat. Add cereal and nuts; mix well. Press mixture firmly onto bottom of greased 13x9-inch pan. Place remaining ingredients in saucepan; cook on very low heat until completely melted and mixture is well blended, stirring frequently. Pour over cereal; spread to cover. Refrigerate until chocolate mixture is set.
You had better make 2 pans. All of the neighborhood kids will be over!

My Son Michael and Friends
Pictured with his children, niece, nephew, and neighborhood kids is my son Michael. There's one big kid in every group! This photo was taken at New Smyrna Beach, where they spent the summer. It's sad, but the little girls are the only ones who are still small enought to shop at www.shopjellybeans.com

Dana and Publix's White Bean Chili
My grandchildren love this super easy recipe for White Bean Chili that their mom picked up at Publix one busy day. It can be prepared and on the table in about 45 minutes. If your children don't like spicy seasonings, get the refried beans without the green chilis. This is a great recipe when your busy day is packed with dance lessons and football practice. Enjoy!
1 (12 Oz package 50% less fat sausage
1/2 pound turkey breast
1 10 oz bag frozen seasoning blend (onions, bell peppers, and celery) or use fresh
1 tablespoon roasted garlic
1 (1.25 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
2 (15.8 ounce) cans great northern beans undrained
1 14 oz can chicken broth
1 (4.5 ounce) can chopped green chilis
1 16 ounce can refried beans with green chilis
Preheat large saucepan on medium high heat 2-3 minutes. Add sausage, ground turkey, seasoning blend, and garlic. Brown 10-12 minutes until meat is brown and no pink remains. Stir frequently and break meat up as it cooks. Stir in dry seasoning mix. Cover and cook one minute. Stir in beans (including juice) and remaining ingredients. Cover and bring to boil. Serve
