We just wanted to give you an idea of how we buy for the upcoming season at Jellybeans. In January, we traveled to the Altanta Apparel Mart, to buy our inventory for fall and holiday 2008. It is usually a three day trip and at the end of each day we are sooo tired that we try to calculate our expenditures before passing out, sometimes without dinner. We are at the market mid morning- I am not a morning person-but we stay until we are kicked out each evening. During the day, we visit the different showrooms and see the new lines from our favorite designers. We buy both trendy and traditional clothing, therefore we are all over the market. As we look at new pieces in each line, the showroom rep displays the entire collection on a grid and we try to use time as efficiently as possible-usually in about three seconds-we give each piece a yeah or a nay. We are always looking for new and innovative designs and clothing that you will not be able to resist.
