My little girl is back at college and beginning her fourth and hopefully final year at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. Everyone in our small town wants to know what her school is like, how does she live in NYC, and what is she studying. FIT is a division of the State University of New York, therefore a public college with a private college mentality. Amy is majoring in Fabric Styling. She will be hopefully be hired by a designer or company to select designs for fabric applications and to make forecast for coming seasons based on a sense of current and future trends. I must admit that she does have a knack for this, and is a big help on Jellybeans buying trips. Her school has great alumni who are often on campus for special events and even speak in the individual classes. Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, Nanette Lepore, and Carolina Herrera all are alumni and actively involved in campus projects. The campus is right on 7th avenue in the Fashion District. Her apartment is one block off campus. She is on the 18th of 36 floors. Pictured is a view from her apartment.
